Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Enike mobile app and related services (“Enike”, “the app”), operated by Pi Technologies (“we”, “us”, “our”). By downloading, accessing, or using Enike, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

1. What Enike is — and what it is not

Enike is a wellness and care-coordination companion for people living with sickle cell disease (“warriors”) and the partners who support them. It helps you track hydration, vitals, daily health logs, and care details, and to coordinate support.

Enike is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Any information in the app, including any crisis-risk indicator, is a general, rule-based signal for your awareness only — it is not a diagnosis, prediction, or substitute for professional medical judgment. Always seek the advice of your physician or qualified health provider, and never disregard or delay professional medical advice because of something you saw in Enike.

2. Not for emergencies

Enike is not an emergency service. In a medical emergency, call your local emergency number or go to the nearest hospital immediately. Do not rely on Enike, its crisis mode, or its SOS/alert features as your only way to get help. Alerts to your emergency contacts are delivered on a best-effort basis and depend on your device, internet or mobile network, and third-party carriers — they may be delayed, incomplete, or fail to deliver, and we do not guarantee that any alert will be sent or received.

3. Eligibility & your account

To create and manage your own account, you must meet the minimum age described in our Privacy Policy. Below that age, an account must be set up and managed by a parent or guardian who accepts these Terms on the minor’s behalf.
You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you enter and for keeping your login credentials secure. You are responsible for activity that happens under your account.
Notify us promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without your permission.

4. Partner linking & emergency alerts

You choose whether to link a support partner and exactly what information they can see. You are responsible for who you link and for the emergency contacts you add, including confirming that they consent to receive alerts and that their details are correct.
When you trigger an SOS, you authorize us to send an alert (SMS and/or push) to the emergency contacts you configured, containing the information described in our Privacy Policy. Message and data rates may apply.
As noted above, alert delivery is best-effort and not guaranteed. Enike does not contact emergency services on your behalf.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

use Enike for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms;
access or attempt to access another person’s account or data without authorization;
interfere with, disrupt, probe, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the app or its systems;
reverse engineer, copy, resell, or exploit the app except as permitted by law;
submit information you are not authorized to share, or use the app to harass or harm others.

6. Your data

Your health and account data is yours. Our collection and use of it is described in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms. You grant us the limited permission needed to store and process your data solely to provide the app’s features to you. You can delete your account and associated data at any time from within the app.

7. Third-party services

Enike relies on third-party platforms and providers — including Apple HealthKit and Google Health Connect (read-only), cloud hosting, push notifications, SMS delivery, and, during a crisis, weather lookups. Your use of the app may also be subject to those providers’ and your app store’s terms. We are not responsible for third-party services we do not control.

8. Intellectual property

Enike, the Enike and Sickle Companion names and logos, and the app’s software, design, and content are owned by Pi Technologies or its licensors and are protected by intellectual-property laws. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the app for your own care and support, in accordance with these Terms. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.

9. Disclaimers

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Enike is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or that any data, reminder, alert, or risk indicator will be accurate, timely, or delivered.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Pi Technologies and its team will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss arising from your use of (or inability to use) Enike, including any failure or delay of a reminder, alert, or SOS. Nothing in these Terms limits any liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

11. Termination

You may stop using Enike and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these Terms or to protect the service or its users. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (including sections 6, 8, 9, 10, and 12) will survive.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Any disputes will be subject to the courts of Nigeria, unless a mandatory local law where you live provides otherwise.

13. Changes to the app and these Terms

We may update the app and these Terms as Enike evolves. We will reflect changes here with an updated “Last updated” date, and for material changes we will provide a more prominent notice (in the app or by email) before they take effect. Your continued use after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
